Emmanuel is committed to serving the greater Bel Air community in many different ways. That includes offering opportunities to worship at different times and in different styles. In October of 2018 the congregation launched a new service, held Saturday Afternoons at 4:30 PM. This service is more casual than our Sunday offerings and is particularly intended to be attractive to families with children who have conflicts with Sunday morning activities. An important component of this new service is the children’s program that is offered each week, similar to a traditional Sunday school.
Sometimes the service is held in the main church sanctuary, while other times it is held in the parish hall. It is definitely “come as you are,” and very young children are welcome to be (and behave) like children! We sing a little, pray a little, talk about the scripture lessons we hear together, and share holy communion. It’s less than an hour long, leaving plenty of time to get home for the evening and whatever activities you might plan.
