Financial Support For Emmanuel Church

We have been emphasizing a line from Psalm 139 this year to remind each other that “We are Wonderfully Made.” Our mission is to share the gifts that god has given us to let others in our community know that they, too, are wonderfully made.

If greater Bel Air is to hear the message of good news we offer, resources have to be gathered and marshaled to put to such use.We make a concerted effort at Emmanuel Church not to come to you week after week with hat in hand asking you to contribute for this project or that ministry. But we do need to fund a budget for the coming year, and so this is our annual appeal for you to help us out.

Emmanuel Church is entirely self-supporting. We count on your financial contributions to fund our ministries, pay staff salaries, and maintain our eclectic buildings. We offer meaningful worship, instructive sermons, a #Crafted Sunday School program, pastoral care and opportunities for our own members and friends from the surrounding community to have a place to gather for fellowship and support on their journeys.

The links below will help you to see and understand what it takes to make mission and ministry happen at Emmanuel Church. You’ll find a letter from me, formally asking for your financial support. There is a copy of our illustrated narrative budget which will help you to see generally where the money goes. New this year is a collection of several years’ worth of articles and letters that describe our philosophy of stewardship — especially intended for people who are new to Emmanuel or who are new to pledging their support. And finally, you can download a “Pledge Card” which we hope you will return to us so that we can create a proper budget to work with in 2020.

Last year the average pledge to Emmanuel was just over $2000 a year, with a good handful in the range of $4000 to $11000 a year, and about 100 pledges submitted. If you and your family can give a little bit more this year, we can do a lot more to fulfill our mission.

Please feel free to ask any questions you might have, directed to me or to any of our Vestry members, whose names you see on the masthead of our Newsletters.

Please remember that you and your financial situation are held firmly in God’s hand, and that your prayers as you consider your contributions will be heard and honored by our creator.
