Most of us are still in shock from the news that our beloved sister in Christ and Deacon, Joan Kelly, died suddenly Saturday night, 23 March 2019, following emergency surgery. It is impossible to describe completely the impact she has had on Emmanuel Church and our ministries over the last three years. To say that she will be sorely missed doesn’t come near the grief that many of us feel after hearing of her death.
There will be two services for Joan+. The first will take place on Saturday, 30 March 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 1200 East Churchville Road, Bel Air. Fr. Bill Smith will officiate, and there will be a reception in the parish hall there following the service. Please contact email@example.com if you would like to bring something to share at the reception.
A second service is planned for Saturday, 13 April 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Baltimore, 4 East University Parkway. The Bishop will preside at a Memorial Eucharist and Canon Gatza will be preaching. The Deacons and other clergy of the Diocese will vest and participate in the service as well.
