After months of planning, Emmanuel is set to launch its new weekend service. Beginning 20 October 2018, this new opportunity will be less formal than our Sunday experience and will be much more interactive. Christian Education for children will be offered, similar to Sunday School, while adults will have the chance to talk with each other about the scripture lessons as the congregation builds the sermon together. Holy Communion will be offered using prayers specially written for this new service.
We plan to experiment with several of the components until we see which combination will work the best. That means that some Saturdays we will meet in the church while other times we will meet in the parish hall. And we are looking for hymns and other music that come from a broader range of Christian sources than our traditional hymnal.
